RATIONALE: Pericardial tuberculosis (TB) is an uncommon but severe extrapulmonary TB manifestation. Due to varied clinical presentations often mimicking other cardiac conditions, diagnosis is challenging. Early diagnosis is needed to prevent significant mortality and morbidity, including complications such as constrictive pericarditis METHOD: A retrospective multicentre cohort study of all consecutive patient with pericardial TB was conducted between 2005 and 2023 within a large East London trust. Patients were identified through the national TB registry. Clinically significant information was extracted from electronic health records.
