Transendocardial Injection of Expanded Autologous CD34+ Cells After Myocardial Infarction: Results of the EXCELLENT Trial

Alternative Title

Abstract

Reparative therapy based on the injection of stem cells like CD34+cells has been considered an attractive approach to improve patient outcomes after an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Prior trials suggested that the benefits of cell therapy may be dependent on the number of injected CD34+ cells and route of administration.
