Cardiac CT In Prosthetic Valve Endocarditis: Diagnostic Performance Relative To Surgeon's Eye

Abstract

Introduction: Cardiac computed tomography (CCT) is recommended in prosthetic infective endocarditis (IE) with suspected paravalvular complications or inconclusive echo findings, although in practice its use is limited. We aimed to compare imaging findings of prosthetic IE between CCT and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) using surgical inspection as a reference standard.
