Abstract

Introduction/aims: Taking a relevant medical history is of paramount importance for detecting unusual and hidden causes of patients' presenting signs and symptoms. However clinicians are often faced with omissions from patients whether intentional or not. This case presents an example of such a scenario where the omission of recreational drug use resulted in over-investigation of his oro-cutaneous ulcers. Further questioning led to an ultimate confession and then diagnosis for cocaine induced ulceration.
