Abstract
Background: Although significant thrombocytopenia is not a common feature of trauma pa1ents in the first hours aier injury, li8le is known about how severe trauma affects platelet count trajectories beyond the ini1al resuscita1on phase, and whether any changes in platelet count are related to clinical outcomes such as the development of post-trauma mul1organ-dysfunc1on syndrome and mortality. Objec1ves: To define the incidence, severity and clinical significance of post-injury thrombocytopenia during cri1cal care admission.
