Abstract
Introduction: TB disease in patients with haematological and solid malignancy is uncommon. Data regarding the impact of screening patients with cancer for latent TB infection (LTBI) is limited. The European Conference on Infections in Leukaemia group (ECIL) recently published guidelines outlining three potential screening approaches. These guidelines prompted a review of TB cases at Barts Cancer Centre, a large specialist oncology centre treating over 1700 new patients annually, serving an ethnically diverse population, with the aim of identifying the ideal strategy.
