Abstract

Background and Objective: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are a leading cause of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes internationally. This review aims to critically analyse international guidelines pertaining specifically to the management of HDP in cases of gestational hypertension and pre-eclampsia. By highlighting best practices and addressing discrepancies in the classification, diagnosis and management of treatment approaches, this review seeks to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary knowledge to improve the quality of care of pregnancy hypertension.
